International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA): Transport Officer (Ibadan)

International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is recruiting for Transport Officer.

IITA, with Headquarters at Ibadan, is an International Agricultural Research Centre in the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), which is an association of about 50 countries, international and regional organizations, and private foundations. IITA seeks to increase agricultural production in a sustainable way in order to improve the nutritional status and well-being of people in tropical Sub-Saharan Africa.

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidates for the following positions at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.

TRANSPORT OFFICER  ( 2-year renewable contract)

DUTIES

Successful candidate will among other things:

* Supervise the entire activities of pool drivers and vehicles;
* Treat vehicle requests promptly and allocate vehicles accordingly
* Ensure that only roadworthy pool vehicles with the correct particulars are sent on trips;
* Prepare monthly charge back for pool vehicles with thoroughness and accuracy;
* Keep track of all pool vehicles/drivers at every location
* Maintain proper records of all IITA-Nigeria vehicles and
* Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

BSc/HND in Business Administration with minimum of 5 years working experience in similar position. Possession of relevant professional qualifications is added advantage.

Candidate must have sound analytical mind, high integrity, good inter- personal and communication skills (oral and written); strong knowledge of computer softwares and be willing to work beyond normal hours.
