Masters Degree Admission into Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology - NASENI

Federal Ministry of Education (World Bank Assisted Step-B Project) Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology - National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure  (NASENI) Federal Ministry of Science and Technology

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into full time M.Sc programmes at the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology (CoEx-AMMT) for the 2012/ 2013 Academic Session The centre is running the following three M Sc Programmes in collaboration with three tertiary institutions

1.) Masters of Science Degree (M Sc) in Machine Design and Mechatronics in collaboration with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University(ATBU), Bauchi

2.) Masters of Science Degree (M,Sc.) in. Electronics Products Manufacturing in collaboration with Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Owerri

3.) Masters of Science Degree (M.Sc.) in Nano-technology and Structured Materials in collaboration with the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), ile-Ife with four areas of specialization namely: Nano-medicine, Nano-enargy, Nano-genomios and Structured Materials

The Centre of Excellence
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology established the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology under the Science and Technology Education Post Basic (STEP-B) World Bank assisted project with the following objectives:

• Human capacity development for teaching, learning and application of Computer Aided Design (CAD:1, Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Modeling and Simulation, Rapid Prototyping, Mechatronics, Nanotechnology etc. in Nigeria.
• Procurement of equipment, machines, software with licenses, laboratory equipment and consumables for middle and high level research activities,
• Development of a National Curriculum for the above listed three Masters Programmes

The M.Sc.programmes will beproductsdriven and participants, at the end of the programme, are expected to come up with relevant products for industrial transformation of the nation, patentable products and international journal publications.

General Requirements

• Five O Level credits in English Language Mathematics, Physics. Chemistry and Biology or Technical Drawing or Further Mathematics.
• Letter of release from employer for the entire period of the programme.
• Candidate must not be more than 35years of age at the point of application.

Special Requirements

1.) M Sc, in Machine Design and Mechatronics

• At least a second class upper division at Bachelors level in any of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Electronic/Electronic Engineering is required
• Candidates with second class lower division with at least two years post NYSC relevant industrial experience may also apply

2.) M.Sc. in Electronics Product Manufactoring

• A first degree In Electrical, Electronic or Electrical/Electronic Engineering from any recognized University with a minimum of second class upper division
• Candidates with second class lower division with at least two years post NYSC relevant industrial experience may also apply

3.) M. Sc. in Nanotechnology and Structured Materials

• A graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University or any other approved University with at least a Second Class Upper Division Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Technology (B.ScJB.Tech.) Degree in any or the Medical Sciences including Pharmacy, Physical and Biological Sciences and Engineering disciplines.
• Candidates with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in the stated disciplines with at least two years post NYSC continuous working experience in Universities, Research and Development to stitutions and Industry related to any of the four options above are also eligible for admission

Application Closing Date

• The closing date for applioation for M.Sc. in Machine Designand Mechatronics at ATBU closes on February 27, 2013. All successful candidates will be notified via email,
• The FUTO Website is open and will close on February 27,2013. All successful candidates will be notified via email.
• The OAU Netque will he opened for this programme on Monday, 11th February, 2013. Duly completed application forms must be submitted online on or before Monday 11th March 2013.

Method of Application

1.) M Sc. In Machine Design and Mechatronics

Step 1: Pay an application form fee of N5,000.00 to:

Step 2: With the bank teller, collect an application form from the Department of Mechatronics Eogineenng, ATBU Bauchi. NASENI STEP-B Project Office Idu, Abuja or any of the following NASENI Development Institute ELDI Awka PEDI Ilesha AMT P Jalingo

Step 3 Submit completed application forms with all the necessary attachment at the point of sale of the application form


2.) M,Sc. in Electronics Product Manufacturing

Visit the FUTO website (www.futo.edu.ng) for details or follow the following steps;
Step 1: Pay a non-refundable fee of Eleven thousand, three hundred naira (N11, 300.00) at any branch of First Bank Plc. for FUTO PG Application for this programme. You will be given an E-Tranzact receipt which should contain a Confirmation Order and Receipt Number, (Ensure that you do NOT lose this information).

Step 2: Log on to www.futo.edu.ng and click on PG Application,

Step 3: Create your Login Account as a New User by entering your First Name, Last Name, Email and any Password of choice, type in the captcha characters and click the Submit button,

NOTE: Make sure the email address supplied is valid as your login details would be sent to the address for future references, Also remember to download the Referee Report and the ‘transcript Request forms on the Login page.

Step 4: With your newly created Login details. login as an Existing User- on the right pane. Then, click the Login button to display the View Forms page.

Step 5: Click on the New Submission link beside Postgraduate Application 2012/2013. Complete the form appropriately (NOTE: asterisk fields are compulsory). At the end of Page One, click Save to proceed to Page Two.

Step 6: After completing Page Two if the form, dick the Save button to proceed to the E-Tranzact payment gateway. Click on Continue to Payment button.

Step 7: Enter the Confirmation Order and the Receipt Number on your E-Tranzact receipt in the appropriate boxes provided and then click on Submit. You will get an instant message to let you know if your payment was successfull or not. Log out if your payment was successful, An acknowledgment would also be sent to the e-mail address you provided while filling the form.


(C) M,Sc, in Nanotechnology and Structured Materials
Purchase of Application Forms Shall be Through Online Only. candidates can complete the application forms and pay online by the following steps:
Step 1: Log on to our admission website

Step 2: Create an online account E-mail will be sent with additional details including a System Generated Password,

Step 3: With e-mail and password combination, applicants should sign in and accurately fill the pages of the application form,

Step 4: Application Processing fee can be paid using either ATM /Nigerian Debit Cards or the OAU Postgraduate Online Application Scratch Cards (Available at GTB, OAU Branch; additional details will be sent via e-mail).

Step 5: Applicants should scan and submit relevant documents online in support of their applications (see note on admission)


Additional Information

• ATM Cards for all banks on the interswitch network are supported.
• Application processing fee for the programme costs N11,300.00 (Eleven Thousand, Three Hundred Naira Only)
• The progress of completed application forms can be monitored online and notification will be seat to applicants once decisions are made on the applications
• Applicants will be notified of the status of their applications by e-mail
• Admission letters will be sent by email and courier
