University of Port Harcourt - This is to inform the general public that sale of Application Forms into the various Part-Time Certificate and Diploma Programmes of the College of Continuing Education, University of Port Harcourt for the 2017 Session has commenced. The following Programmes will be offered during the Session:

A.) Certificate and Diploma Programmes in:

• Computer Aided Design in Oil and Gas

Entry Requirements
Certificate Programme:

• Candidates must have three (3) Ordinary Level Credit passes in the WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE at not more than two (2) sittings.
• Duration of the Programme: Nine (9) months

Diploma Programme:

• Candidates must have four (4) Ordinary Level Credit passes in the WASC/SSCE/NECO/GEC at not more than two (2) sitting, including English Language and Mathematics.
• Duration of the Programme: 18 months

• S/Nos. (1) - (6): Candidates must have three (3) Ordinary Level Credit passes in the WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE at not more than two (2) sittings, including English Language. Working experience in the related area will be an added advantage.
• S/Nos. (7) and (8): Candidates must have three (3) Ordinary Level Credit passes in the WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE at not more than two (2) sittings, including English Language and Mathematics. Working experience in the related area will be an added advantage.
• Duration of the Programmes: Two (2) years. (Saturdays only)

Short Courses:

• Candidates must possess relevant or related practical experience.

Professional Diploma Programmes:

• Possess relevant or related practical experience
• Possession of Higher National Diploma (HND) or First Degree in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry are added advantage.

Certificate Courses:

• Possess relevant or related practical experience.
• Possess the requisite O’level credits passes in three subjects, which must include:
  • English Language (compulsory)
  • Chemistry (compulsory)
  • Biology or Agricultural Science (and not both).
  • Mathematics or Physics (and not both) and
  • Any other subject (Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, or Commerce).

Duration of Programmes

• Short Courses: Shall last between 10 to 21 days.
• Professional Diploma Programmes: Shall last 12 Calendar months
• Certificate Courses: Shall last 12 Calendar months.

Note: ONLY candidates with three (3) Ordinary Level credits passes in the WASC/SSCE/GCE/NABTEB/ NECO at not more than two (2) sittings are acceptable for registration.
