Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria invites applications from suitable qualified candidates for Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) Endowed academic position in the Faculty of Engineering, department of mechanical Engineering:

Job Title: Shell Professional Chair in Mechanical Engineering

Description

• The Shell Chair conducts wide range of researches on Shell’s Exploration and Production challenges.
• It also support Shell’s knowledge enrichment initiatives that assist in evolving a symbiotic relationship between the academia & Exploration and Production Industry.

Requirements

• Applicants must be distinguished Professors and scholars in the areas of Mechanical, Production or Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, with major research activity in The following areas: Composite materials, Corrosion of oil & gas, Energy and energy conservation.
• Candidates must possess considerable relevant experience including demonstrated academic and research leadership and must be Registered Engineers.
• A good oil field experience is an added advantage.

Condition of Service
The appointment, which is to commence as soon as possible, is for four (4) years in the first instance. The conditions and salary are as approved for enhanced Professorial Chairs in the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The occupant will be required to lead a Seminar each session and at the end of the Lecture, to organize a major Seminar/Symposium/ Lecture.
