Job Title: Ramp Agent

Reports To: Ramp Supervisor
Function: Flight Operations

Purpose Statement:
Responsible to authorise hold baggage and cargo for carriage by air.
Making available to the Pilot of the aircraft a copy of the signed hold baggage manifest.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure all hold baggage loaded has been accounted for on the hold baggage manifest:
• Ensure all hold baggage loaded is appropriate to the flight and has been identified as accompanied or unaccompanied as appropriate
• Ensuring the luggage is loaded on the correct carousel in the baggage reclaim area.
• Recording and dealing with damaged or incorrectly received baggage, and load discrepancies.
• Using specialist equipment such as conveyors, bar code recognition and lifting equipment.
• Review and report station adherence to policies and procedures bearing in mind local influences.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• This position requires a graduate with a Degree/HND or any related discipline relevant to aviation with at least 3 years airport / ramp experience with relevant certifications.
• Knowledge of ramp handling and IATA dangerous goods awareness, Oversee despatch of baggage to reclaim point, ensuring target times are met.
• Knowledge of operation of loading and ramp procedures, aircraft doors and in-plane systems.
• Detailed and comprehensive knowledge of all load and balance procedures and regulations.
