Description
The Investor Relations Manager is accountable for creating and presenting a consistently applied investment message to the investment community on behalf of the company, and for monitoring and presenting to management the opinions of the investment community regarding the company's operational and financial performance.
The IRM position collaborates with the appropriate stakeholders and teams to develop and execute the IR strategy, operating plans, budget, and corporate IR program. This position is responsible educating and updating investors and security analysts about the company to achieve a fair relative stock price. All programs must accurately represent and reflect the company. This position has responsibility for local and global market investor management
Responsibilities
Executes the collection, analysis, and presentation of feedback to the company of investors’ perceptions and opinions, brokerage security analysts’ positions and summaries, relative stock price movements, and periodic ownership analysis.
Collaborates with HIR in executing the global investor relations program, operating plan, budget, and the detailed execution of the IR operating plan.
Speaks on behalf of the company at investment presentations, institutions, individual meetings and discussions, and with the media.
Educates and updates investors and analysts through:
Keeps shareholders knowledgeable about the company (and implicitly encourages them to buy and hold).
Finds, supports, and encourages prospective investors by broadening awareness and interest through conferences, presentations, meetings, media, and mailings.
Responds to investor targets-of-opportunity created by presentations, meetings, and media.
Uses statistical targeting to identify good-fit institutional investors; contacts the analysts at those institutions to verify possible interest and to encourage interest and investment.

Performs a comprehensive competitive analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation
Develops and monitors performance metrics for the investor relations function
Establishes the optimum type and mix of shareholders, and creates that mix through a variety of targeting initiatives
Monitors operational changes through ongoing contacts with company management, and develops investor relations messages based on these changes
Provides Regulation Fair Disclosure training to all company spokespersons
Creates presentations, press releases, and other communication materials for earnings releases, industry events, and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors
Manages the investor relations portion of the company web site
Works with and monitors analyst reports and summarizes them for senior management
Serves as the key point of contact for the investment community globally
Establishes and maintains relationships with stock exchange representatives in globally
Attends conferences, quarterly road shows, organises quarterly earnings conference calls, and investor meetings in globally
Provides feedback to HIR regarding the investment community's perception of the company
Represents the views of the investor community to the HIR in the development of corporate strategy
Provides feedback to the HIR regarding the impact of corporate actions, stock repurchase programs or dividend changes on the investment community

Qualifications and Skills
5+ years Accounting/Finance Experience
5+ years experience in investor relations/financial/research/business development departments
1st degree in Business Administration, Economics or other related area
7 years experience within a reputable corporate organisation
A Masters/MBA is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal skills
Relationship building skills in the investment community and the ability to collaborate with the executive team
Must be willing to travel 50% of the time
Local (Nigerian) and International Oil & Gas Industry History and Dynamics (including some knowledge of laws and regulations)
