Job Title: Customs COE Leader - Sub Sahara Africa

Location: IIkoyi - Lagos, Nigeria

Role Summary/Purpose:

• The role will demonstrate accountability for functional (Center of excellence),business and broad company objectives.
• You will be expected to integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
• Full alignment with Finance, Supply Chain and other functions within the organization.
• Location: Kenya, Nigeria or South Africa

Essential Responsibilities:

• Direct functional area of business, translate concepts, develop strategy and implement change.
• Ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of goods.
• Plan, execute, and manage the customs function across SSA.
• Act as the customs leadership focal point for all customs matters in SSA for the businesses.
• Develop and implement standardized processes and strategies across platforms and customers.
• Provide advice to other functional areas and demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
• 10 years of experience in an import/export or logistics role
• Prior similar experience leading a complex customs function within Sub-Sahara Africa region

• Ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
