Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading multinational oilfield servicing company to recruit a Fishing Specialist for its operations in Nigeria.

Job description
The Fishing Specialist participates in the planning, execution, and management of all phases of any fishing job to ensure delivery of services according to client requirements and expectations. He will be majorly involved in supervision of downhole fishing & well intervention operations.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:

• Provide technical support to crew and clients at the well site
• Develop expertise on advanced fishing techniques
• Plan and coordinate fishing, milling, well abandonment, well departure, and relevant drilling operations
• Manage storage and inventories of supplies and fixed assets on the rig
• Train, coach, and mentor junior-level Fishing Specialists
• Maintain communication with client well site representative, rig crew, and field support staff
• Participate in knowledge sharing
• Follow up on service quality events with operations management team and ensure incident reports are closed with clients
• Provide reports for fishing jobs
• Manage inventory of fishing tools
• Ensure compliance with company quality and safety requirements
• Determine the need and use of equipment when on a job
• Advise customer on the proper procedures to perform a fishing operation and provide instruction on proper procedures

Qualifications and Experience

• B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 3 years’ experience in drilling & fishing operation in the Oil & Gas sector
• Knowledge of working with tools for pipe recovery, cutting, milling, jarring, washover operations, casing patches, whip stock recovery, and wire-line recovery
• Knowledge of thru-tubing tools is very necessary
• Must be very skillful in running of downhole fishing / intervention tools
• Must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Full knowledge of fishing tools maintenance and re-dressing procedures are required
• Should have understanding of drilling ops / open hole & cased hole fishing operations
