Job Title: Base Supervisor

Role Summary/Purpose:
The role of the Base Supervisor is to ensure that the personnel are fully equipped and safe to support the various ongoing operations at the Onne facility,always aiming to increase efficiency in line with the GE quality and safety standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
Ensure security and evacuation procedures are in place and are constantly updated to suit each situation
Liaise with other Operators / Service companies' security depts., CLO, DPO, etc.
Co-ordinate the Expats Health and Safety, e.g. staying in the Prodeco camp, medical cover, camp security, Logistical transfer to and from our facilities(Onne and PHC base) /airport
Run and co-ordinate the Onne aftermarket repair facility
Drive and build a strong EHS Culture to encourage HELP card reporting
Show strong leadership to his direct and supporting Expat and National teams highlighting the GE Growth Values
Visit and liaise with our onsite resident customers face to face, supporting and identifying their equipment and service needs for their ongoing operations,
Work closely and feed information to our onsite planner on customer equipment needs versus Onne resources available
Monitor ongoing work outside our facility, with the assistance of the base support engineering and QA/QC personnel e.g. machining at Remm, Riser refurbishment at Tubescope, makeup assay at Weatherford etc.
Support the on-going projects at e.g. Snepco Drilling / Completion, FPSO, Addax, Chevron Escravos, Agip Completion and FPSO, Transocean Riser repair
Liaise with PHC and Lagos management of the regional sales plan and customer requirements
Raise a detailed daily work plan for the facility operations; this will be discussed by the base supervisors at the daily 07:30am morning meeting
Review the appropriate Risk assessments per daily operational work plan, identify if special work plans are required for Non Standard Equipment
Conduct and chair the weekly workshop meetings
Complete the EMS -Annual staff appraisals
Ensure local / expat staff complete their online regulatory training
Implement Company Disciplinary procedures as per HR code when required
Mentor and train the National/ Local workshop supervisor and shop personnel with detailed reports showing that they have achieved the correct competence level and appropriate skillsets
Co-ordinate and own controllership of ordering and distributing of diesel to generators and vehicles
Work closely with Ops & Facilities Manager covering the building PM, generators servicing / Repairs, overhead crane, compressors, water well, air conditioners, pest control, etc
Raise work flow requests covering on going work activities
Create SNEPCO SAP W/O requests
Generate high level PPP covering workshop hour capacity and forecasting to be presented to the senior management team at the monthly business reviews
Raise and record Job sheets and W/O, covering operations, ensuring the tracking of all costs, such as labour, spares and 3rd party while keeping the customers fully aware that we do not exceed the initial quote
Prepare in depth handover reports to their B2B, with a copy to the Regional Service Leader
Attend regular customer operational meetings and take onboard various actions that he requires to closeout
Qualifications/Requirements:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
A minimum of 7 years experience gained in a workshop environment and sound product knowledge on drilling and production equipment
History of instructing direct reports and a significant headcount
Broad knowledge of various products such as Surface/ Subsea Drilling / Completion equipment, Capital Drilling equipment and preferably an Aftermarket background
Ability to generate customer Quotes covering the repair, refurbishment of all product line equipment
Computer literacy (Outlook, PIMS, PROARC, Microsoft Planner and access to our local common drive, etc)
Strong customer relations as we have onsite customer reps
Flexible and accessible by mobile and E-mail access while in off duty time
Required to attend various internal and external training courses in off duty time
