JOB TITLE: LEGAL COUNSEL (NIGERIA)

JOB REF: LC/N IG/01/2010

Department: Legal Department

Educational Requirements:
- LLB (Hons) with minimum of second class lower division from a reputable University
- B. L with minimum of second class lower division

Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years post call experience acquired from well established law firm in Nigeria or acquired from a reputable private limited by shares in Nigeria.
- The right candidate must have a sound knowledge of Nigerian courts civil procedure and practice

Knowledge/skill Requirements:
The right candidate must have sound knowledge.
Skills and sound experience in:
- Litigation in superior courts of record
- Contracts review and negotiaion
- Legal drafting
- Business and commercial law (Domestic and International trade law)
- Company law and law of contracts
- Employment and labour law
- Corporate legal compliance
- Immigration and employment law
- Basic Nigerian Telecoms and regulatory matters

Responsibilities:
- The candidate must have the skills and ability to appraise and negotiate complex contracts / Agreements such as Turnkey contracts,
- Engineering and Construction contracts as The right candidate must have a sound they relate to the Nigerian telecoms projects.
- Abillty to work independently.
- Readiness to travel at any given time (If required)

General Requirements for the position;
- Experience in a Telecom Engineering Company, Telecoms Vendor or ICT is preferred and is of top-priority.
- Good Customer service orientation, communication skills, good team spirit and has ability to work independently.
- Should be ready to work under pressure in all kind of working condition,
- Proficient in Microsoft office (word, excel and PowerPoint)
- Applicants should be open to learning new skills and technology
- Self-motivated, fleXible, enthusiastic and fluent in English both oral and written.
- Must be ready for international project to the other African countries.
- Successful applicants should be Goal-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills, and be a very good team player.
- The successful applicant should be good at information gathering and analysis
