A Maritime/Shipping Company is recruiting to fill the following position:

Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Ref: HGEL1144

Location: Lagos.

Job description

The ideal candidate must have a previous experience within the Marine/offshore environment
The Assistant Accountant will be in charge of raising invoices, managing ledgers, processing expenses, preparing Vat return etc
He must demonstrate a can do attitude and have the capability to motivate and challenge his team.

Responsibilities

Responsible for verification of invoices and processing of payments
Responsible for posting of voucher using Peachtree Accounting System
Preparation of bank reconciliation statement monthly
Calculation and preparation of monthly vat remittance
Remittance of monthly staff paye to the appropriate authorities as well as yearly returns to LSIRS
Responsible keeping proper record of creditors end debtors

Qualifications

Min BSc or HND in Accounting
Must have Sound knowledge of Peachtree Accounting System
Must be able to use MS office Package
Must have good knowledge of general record keeping & filling System
Min of 3 years experience in shipping and Oil industry,
Sound Communication skills and Computer literate
Ability to work under pressure
