University of Lagos invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant positions in the newly established Research and Innovation Office in the University.

Job Title: Research and Innovation Office

The newly established Research and Innovation Office of the University is conceptualised as a globally-oriented office with a mandate to reposition and respond to new and emerging trends in research in the University.
The objectives of the two Units of the Office include:

Research Development Unit

• Intensification of research activities across the University
• Coordination of multidisciplinary research activities
• Sourcing research grants from local and international agencies
• effective administration of grant and research activities

Innovation Dissemination Unit

• Establishing linkages between Researcher and potential End-Users in the public and private sectors.
• Marketing of research output to end-users e.g. for industrial processing and development or policy
• Effective administration of post-research activities

B.) Qualifications
Research Development Unit

i. Senior Research Fellow (Research Development)
Candidates for the post of Senior Research Fellow must posses a good first degree and a Ph.D or its equivalent in any relevant field of specialisation in the Sciences or Humanities from a recognised University with not less than Seven (7) years of research experience in a University or comparable Research Institute.

Candidates must be able to initiate and develop research ideas, write proposals and must possess administrative experience. Demonstrate evidence of funding attracted grants from international agencies will be an added advantage. Evidence of several scholarly publications in learned journals is also required.

ii. Research Fellow I
Candidates for this post must possess a good first degree and Ph.D degree or its equivalent in the relevant field of specialisation in the Sciences or Humanities from a recognised University with not less than five (5) years of research experience in a University or comparable Research Institute. The candidate must be able to produce independent and original contributions to the subject area in a research group. He must demonstrate some level of competence in research proposal writing and have ability to attract external funding for research. Evidence of scholarly publications in learned journals is also required.

ii. Research Fellow II
Candidates for this post must possess a good first degree and a Ph.D degree or its equivalent in the relevant field of specialisation in the Sciences or Humanities from a recognised University both at least two (2) years experience. The candidate must be ready to develop a career path in a research environment. He must be able to demonstrate

Innovation Dissemination Services Unit
i. Senior Research Fellow (Innovation Services)
Candidates for the post of Senior Research Fellow must posses a good first degree and a Ph.D or its equivalent in any relevant field of specialisation in the Sciences or Humanities from a recognised University with not less than five (5) years of research experience in a University or comparable Research Institute.

Candidates must have the ability to initiate linkages between researchers and potential end-user in the public and private sectors, with the aim of marketing and commercializing research output. He/she must have experience of research collaboration. Evidence of several scholarly publications in learned journals is also required.

ii. Research Fellow I
Candidates for this post must posses a good first degree and a Ph.D degree or its equivalent in the relevant field of specialisation in the Sciences or Humanities from a recognised University with not less than five (5) years of research experience in a university or comparable Research Institute. The candidate must be able to initiate linkages between researchers and potential end-users in the public and private sectors, with the aim of marketing and commercializing research output. He/she must demonstrate some level of competence in research activities and ability to attract funding for research. Evidence of scholarly publications in learned journals is also is also required.

ii. Research Fellow II
Candidates for this post must posses a good first degree and a Ph.D degree or its equivalent in the relevant field of specialisation in the Sciences or Humanities from a recognised University of comparable research Institute. The candidate must be ready to develop a career in initiating linkages between researchers and potential end-users in the public and private sectors, with aim of patenting and marketing research output. He/she must also be ready to contribute to research activities in the subject area in a research group.

• Senior Research Fellow CONUASS 5 (N1,653,415.00 – N2,348,299.00) per annum
• Research Fellow I CONUASS 4 (N1,122,751.00 – N1,444,535.00) per annum
• Research Fellow II CONUASS 3 (N897,501.00 – N1,074,314.00) per annum
