Job Title: UI Designer

Location: Nigeria

Job Description
As a UI Designer, a typical day might include the following:

• Establish and drive the online brand strategy across all platforms
• Define and maintain brand digital design standards and guidelines
• Lead the creation of user-centric UI designs and interactions, with a focus on mobile first design
• Work directly with UX designers to define visual layouts and execute the visual implementation of prototypes, wireframes and customer feedback into exceptional user interfaces
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business stakeholders and Developers throughout the design process
• Execute/review various visual design stages from concept to final Development hand-off
• Gather internal feedback to refine and iterate on concepts and perform revisions based on user feedback
• Coach, and mentor junior UI Designers by guiding and reviewing their work
• Offer recommendations in order to improve efficiency and quality of work
• Stay up to date with competitive and web design trends and technologies

Essential Skills and Experience

• Relevant degree/diploma
• Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications / Sketch
• At least 4 years UI design experience with a strong portfolio of work across multiple digital platforms
• Strong mobile and app design experience
• Knowledge and proven experience of UI design for mobile first projects
• Strong digital brand style guide and brand asset management experience
• Previous experience working in e-commerce/travel/transactional platforms
• An understanding of the technical aspects of digital design and how they influence design decisions
• A keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership and see projects through to completion
• Deadline driven with the ability to work at a fast pace when needed
• An understanding of user experience or experience working with UX designers
• A passion for UI design and the desire to make a difference

Bonus Skills:

• Previous experience working in an Agile development environment
• Experience working with Jira as a project management tool
• An understanding and appreciation of user centred design
• Experience working on feature phone UI design/design for Opera Mini
• Wireframing experience
