Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes offered at the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Kogi State for the 2013/2014 Academic Session:

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes

V. School of Environmental Studies

Entry Requirements

• The minimum entry requirements for admission into the Higher National Diploma programmes are as follows:
• The National Diploma in the relevant field with a minimum of Lower Credit grade obtained from a recognized institution, and a minimum of one-year post qualification experience.
• In exceptional cases, candidates with pass grade and a minimum of two years of post qualification experience in the specific field may be considered for admission.
• Holders of ND from other institutions are to forward their academic transcripts and confidential report to the Registrar (Academic Affairs) for admission purposes.
• Five (5) relevant credit passes, including Mathematics and English Language, at the SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB and other O/L equivalent qualifications obtained at not more than 2 sittings. Copied: www.hotnigerianjobs.com

(2.) Pre-National Diploma (Pre - ND Programmes)
These are one- year programmes designed to prepare candidates for subsequent admissions for full-time National Diploma Programmes in the following:

I. School Of Engineering

(a) Civil Engineering

(b) Electrical/Electronics

(c) Mechanical Engineering

(d) Metallurgical Engineering

(e) Foundry Technology


II. School Of Technology

(a) Computer Science

(b) Food Science and Technology

(c) Hospitality Management Technology

(d) Science Laboratory Technology

(e) Statistics

(f) Tourism.


III. School Of Environmental Studies

(a) Architectural Technology

(b) Building Technology

(c) Estate Management

(d) Quantity Surveying

(e) Surveying and Geoinformatics

(f) Urban and Regional Planning

The entry requirements are at least five (5) Ordinary Level passes or ‘their equivalents, including Mathematics and English Language, at NOT more than two sittings obtained from WAEC, NECO and NABTEB in subjects relevant to the programmes. Copied: www.hotnigerianjobs.com

Note: All HND candidates will be required to appear for screening ,in their disciplines. Pre-ND candidates will be screened in English Language and Mathematics. All screening exercises will take place at the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, at a date to be announced later.

(A) Part-Time Higher National Diploma (HND)

Programmes:- School of Business Studies

(a) HND Accountancy

Duration

• Three academic sessions of six semesters.

Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for admission into the Part-Time Higher National Diploma Programmes are the same as those for the full- time programmes.

(B) Part-Time National Diploma Programmes:

I. Financial Studies

II. Business Studies

III Public Administration

Duration: Three academic sessions of Six Semesters

Entry Qualifications For The Programmes
Candidates must possess credits in at least five (5) subjects at not more than two sittings in SSCE, WASC, GCE ‘O’ Level, TC II, National Technical Certificate (NTC), National Business Certificate (NBC) or their equivalents. Two of the credits must be in English Language, (not Literature in English) and Mathematics while the other three credits could be from Economics/Commerce, Principles of Account, Business Methods, Statistics, Literature in English, Government/History, Geography and a basic science subject.

Applicants are to visit the nearest branch of the EcoBank Plc to make payment for the forms and obtain a PIN which they are expected to use to fill the application forms Online at the Polytechnic’s Website.
The following procedures are to be followed:

• Log to the address www.federalpolyidah.edu.org
• Click on the Online Application tab
• Click on start registration (to start a new registration)
• Fill the form that appears accordingly
• Upload your scan/digital Passport Photograph.
• The completed form will be submitted and a copy of application slip will be generated for print out.

Application Fee
Each application form costs N5,000.00, a bank charge fee of N250.00, and e-transact fee of N250.00
