GE is recruiting to fill the below position of:

Job Title: General Mechanic

Job Number: 1756514
Location: Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Role Summary/Purpose:
The General Mechanic will have primary responsibility for disassembly, repair and assembly of Gas Turbine Components including Oil & Gas Offshore Compressor Components.
This role is within the Repair Services Segment of the GE Power & Water - PGS Business. The Service Centre is situated in Port Harcourt.

Essential Responsibilities:

Assemble or dismantle components using proper techniques in accordance with procedures
Dismantle and sand blast various equipment
Visually inspect and clean equipment
Assemble various configurations of components to corresponding assembly prints utilizing available tooling, gauging and equipment
Operate hand grinder, ban saw and other electric tools
Capable of accurately reading micrometers, gauges and calipers

Qualifications/Requirements:

OND in Mechanical Engineering/Technical College certification
Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
A good communicator who is willing to work as part of a team
Strong work ethic and HSE focused
Able to process products in accordance with engineering part specifications and assembly procedures
Must have prior experience working in a manufacturing / Production Environment
