New Media Producer at PATH2

Partnership for Transforming Health Systems Phase II (PATHS2) is a six year national programme funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) to strengthen Nigeria’s health system. PATHS2 seeks to contribute to effective and efficient use of Nigeria’s resources to achieve the health related Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5.

PATHS2 is working to improve planning, financing and delivery of sustainable and replicable pro-poor health services for common health problems in five states in Nigeria – Enugu, Jigawa, Lagos, Kaduna, and Kano. By influencing and changing processes of health systems governance at federal and state level and encouraging citizen engagement and participation, PATHS2 is successfully improving health outcomes for the poor and socially excluded in its five focal states.

Path2 is recruiting qualified professionals to fill the following position:

Job Title: New Media Producer

Location: Abuja

Responsibilities

• S/he will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the PATH2 website to ensure that updated information from the state offices are presented on global website
• S/he will ensure the integrity of the online systems and information through implementation and maintenance of established system management practices, processes and controls. In addition, coordinate and monitor the optimization of PATHS2 website online statistics, contribute to meaningful statistical reporting.
• The job holder will configure servers and set communication parameters which ensure timely delivery of information to the PATH2 website.
• Provide oversight to the management of the PATHS2 online content management system, forums, blogs, document libraries, image libraries, personal pages, wikis and news processes to increase knowledge-sharing awareness between colleagues and partners.
• Work with relevant PATHS2 teams to conceive, design and launch new web products such as blogs, community forums and user profiles.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree (minimum) or Masters’ Degree (desirable), in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, communications/journalism or another relevant field.
• Four years of professional experience as an online producer in a development environment, designing, hosting, maintaining, and updating websites.
• Significant experience in Content Management Systems (CMSs) such as Wordpress, Plone, Drupal, and Joomla, and software packages such as Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver.
• Working knowledge of web measurement tools and metrics and social media. Multimedia creation tools a plus and proficiency in HTML, CSS and Photoshop.
• JavaScript a plus.
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of good web site design front both server and client perspectives.
• Ability to learn complex technical materials and adapt in a rapidly changing technological area.
• Excellent public communication skills, with an in-depth appreciation of appropriate visual design and branding.
• Considerable project management experience, excellent administrative skills, and effective team-working abilities.
• Experience in the design and building of Government websites, and knowledge of the particular technical and contextual issues in Nigeria
• Excellent spoken and written English.
