Call for Entries for Studio Production Masterclass - British Council Nigeria

The British Council is pleased to invite applications from aspiring and emerging studio producers and bands for a studio production master class with Sam Jones from the Sound Thread company, UK.

This 6-day training is set to help young aspiring and existing producers learn the key skills they need to become successful music producers. This training also gives an opportunity for an emerging band that plays live music to record 2 songs for their LP. The British Council will promote these songs on a radio station to be determined by us.

Location: Lagos

The workshop will involve short modules on the following:

• Time management
• Budget management
• People skills and their importance
• Project management
• Health and safety risk assessment
• Technical training

Who should Apply?

Producers

• Evidence of some studio production ideally of live music
• Basic use of Pro Tools and Logic

Band

• Band members should be between 18 and 35 years
• The band should have at least 3 members
• Experience in playing live music for at least 3 years
• Have intention to release an LP before December 2013.

Note:
Selected participants will be required to be available from 8am - 5pm, every day from 24 - 29 June 2013 in Lagos. Selected participants from outside Lagos will be expected to bear their transport and accommodation costs for the duration of the workshop.
