Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a conglomerate with key business units in furniture, consumer goods manufacturing and construction. It requires the services of a Procurement Manager for its furniture division.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Description
  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for the sourcing and purchasing goods and services for the company according to its available budget for each department.
  • He/she will development and manage the vendor selection process for the company and negotiate with suppliers, ensuring delivery schedules are met and prepare reports for the company's management.
Responsibilities
  • Forecasting likely levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels to maximise business efficiency;
  • Develop the organisation's purchasing strategy;
  • Identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them;
  • Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers;
  • Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives;
  • Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress - checking the quality of service provided;
  • Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors;
  • Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities;
  • Processing payments and invoices;
  • keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future.
Qualifications and Skills
  • University Degree or HND in Accounting, Business Administration or any Social Sciences
  • An MBA will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with at least 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Membership of a recognized professional body in procurement.
  • Proficient with the use of the MS Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational & Planning skills
  • Oral & Written Communication
