Responsibilities
The job holder will execute reservoir engineering work including high quality simulation studies to deliver projects as well as exploration support for new wells and new ventures.
Studing the behavior and characteristics of gas/oil reservoirs to determine the course of future development and production that will maximize profit.
Generating forecasts and reserve estimates to meet internal Business Plan, Budget and external reporting.
Formulating field development strategies and propose these to management.
Documenting technical work in a clear, concise and timely manner conforming to Clients requirements and standards.
Peer review team member to ensure technical quality and to enhance value to the business of proposed activities.
Performing well-test interpretation of existing or new wells as well as reservoir performance predictions, as well as production optimization through work-overs;
Closely interacting with asset production operations team to maximize production volumes whilst producing within well operating envelope.
The job holder will be expected work in accordance with Client Reservoir Engineering functional strategy, guidelines and standards.
The job holder will report to the Subsurface Manager in Lagos.
Experience Needed
The candidate will have a track record of delivery in reservoir engineering in different reservoir systems. Will be an experienced and versatile reservoir engineer able to demonstrate experience in variety of fluid types, ideally in both clastic reservoirs.
Must have intellectual curiosity and rigor, reliability, imagination and creative thinking, autonomy, and adaptability.
Must be a self starter with good decision-taking skills with ability to plan and organise workload effectively and a proven ability to work under pressure without sacrificing quality.
Be a good team player with a proactive and flexible attitude, and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Demonstrate good interaction with other subsurface disciplines, and to promote integrated working practices.
Demonstrate collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals. Identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one’s area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals.
Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate with internal peers, partners and 3rd parties to influence decisions or ways of working.
Demonstrate leadership skills in procuring and managing additional support for ad hoc studies from Client Oversees Technical Team and contractors.
Have a good working knowledge of PVT, SCAL, reserves, reservoir simulation modelling, production optimisation, forecasting and integrated modelling.
Have good IT skills using Microsoft Office products.
Show experience of work in operating oil company environment.
Be a senior Eclipse user, proved experience with Eclipse modules including OFFICE, NWM, VFPI, Flogrid, Floviz , Schedule, Welltest, Petrel RE
Have a strong back-ground on black-oil reservoir simulation and gas/oil field modeling and history matchinig
Show experience on designing, interpreting well tests. Preferable using Kappa-Saphire/Prosper/Weltest
Show an understanding of Integrated Asset/Production Modelling preferable with petroleum experts tools like GAP, Prosper Mbal,
Have a history match of existing models and data integration into new models
Have a good knowledge of all operational aspects of the oil & gas field including reservoir, drilling, completion, production and surface facilities
Generation & Evaluation of development scenarios
Carry out operational follow-up of new wells and workovers when required
Requirements
The candidate must have at least a First Science or Engineering degree.
Minimum of 8 years oil and gas industry experience in a broad range of reservoir engineering technologies, techniques and field applications, and be capable of taking forward interpretation concepts into field deployment.
The candidate must be able to work under pressure, in an environment where there are conflicting deadlines, and still deliver a quality product.
Must have a genuine enthusiasm for reservoir engineering in its broadest context, and have a strong sense of self-motivation.
He/She have to be flexible, collaborative, and be able to share in a common vision of what we Client seeks to achieve, and demonstrate a resilient attitude to “take the knocks” and still press forward.
Preference will be given to Nigerian nationals. In case Expatriate candidate(s) are selected it is a prerequisite he/she is tasked to mentor and train a Nigerian understudy
