Group Finance is a corporate function that serves the overall Standard Bank group across a variety of accounting disciplines - internal and external reporting, budgeting and planning, tax, technical accounting and investor relations. It also runs the bank's capital management and regulatory reporting teams and the financial shared services processing centre. Group Finance has its own, dedicated SAP technical support and development team and a new financial systems and process improvement programme team known as Refine.

Position Description
Managing the planning and the performance management process in Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc
Facilitating strategic planning through preparation of financial forecasts based on group business strategy
Assisting with the management, co-ordination and preparation of the annual budget and periodic revised estimates.
Design and implementation of performance management processes and systems.
Performance management through analysis, review and preparation of periodic financial reports
Providing the group leadership management information to support decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning
Preparation of key macro and micro assumptions for input into the planning and budgeting process.
Assisting with the management, co-ordination and preparation of the annual business plan, capital expenditure, operating budget and periodic revised estimates
Challenge the plans of business units and integrate those plans into the group plan.
Performance Management
Develop and implement reporting of key management information (MI) ensuring data integrity and timely communication to relevant stakeholders.
Develop performance benchmarks for business units and group and monitor performance against these.
Drive the required business analysis and related process for making recommendations for new or improving performance opportunities.
To manage performance against the budget for each business unit and the group as a whole.
Providing detailed monthly performance statements and analysis for the group.
Investigation of variances and recommending remedial measures where necessary
Identify areas of performance shortfall and propose corrective interventions to group management team.
Preparing finance's input for Board papers detailing and analysing actual performance against budget
Market share and competitive analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Tertiary accounting qualification
Professional Accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA)
MBA is an advantage.
Minimum of 6 years post qualification experience.
In depth understanding of banking and the underlying key performance drivers
Previous financial Modelling and data mining experience
Computer literacy and knowledge of personal computers and software packages such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access. Working knowledge of SAP and Finacle is an added advantage.
Good communication and presentation skills at a senior level.
Required Competencies
An appreciation and a good understanding of macro economics and external factors affecting the business strategies adopted, and market serviced by SIHP.
Understanding of the importance of planning and budgeting in the bank's overall business strategy
Ability to analyse and evaluate data for acceptability and correctness.

Ability and experience in communicating with all levels of management regarding management information needs.
Good interpersonal skills required in liaising with people at different levels within the bank.
