Nigeria LNG Limited was incorporated as a limited liability company on May 17, 1989, to harness Nigeria's vast natural gas resources and produce Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) for export. The company has a wholly-owned subsidiary, Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) Limited, which provides shipping services for NLNG and Nigeria LNG Ship Manning Limited which provides personnel for all of NLNG’s Vessels.Our LNG is delivered to ports in cities around the world.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Instrument Engineer

The Job:
The appointee will be required to maintain and renew (as required) the DCS and Safety System (comprising of Fire &Gas Systems and Safeguarding Systems) and also support maintenance of portfolio of 3rd party systems critical to plant operations across LNG value chain from Gas Suppliers’ tie-in at Gas Transmission Stations (GTS) up to Condensate/LNG/LPG Ships thereby sustaining gas supplies, Condensate/LNG/LPG production and loading operations.

The Duties:
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide support to Invensys Resident team on day-to-day maintenance of the Invensys DCS and Triconex PLC and work with the team to ensure long term operability of the systems by planning system software upgrades and hardware rejuvenation timely with minimal impact to plant turn-around duration.
• Carry out all necessary safety critical functions as identified, assigned and defined in the bowties to ensure that the effectiveness of the control barriers and recovery measures are maintained.
• Provide support for installation and maintenance of Server hardware software and network infrastructure in the Process Control Domain (PCD) and undertake routine preventative measures of PCD network infrastructures.
• Perform maintenance and monitoring of PCD network security and work closely with IT focal on firewall/secured access for network connections between PCD and Office network. In addition, carry out requisite administration of user accounts, permissions and passwords and manage deployment of virus protection software(s) on Servers and systems in the PCD.
• Identify the need for new spare parts and also carry out periodic stock review concerning portfolio of integrated control systems to enhance cost effectiveness and ensure business continuity. Provide support that enable Invensys team operate allocated budgets and material returns programme and contribute to long term budget proposals and liaise with operations and peer engineering sections concerning issues of maintenance on any of the control systems.
• Assist in managing work flow using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure adequate capture of team activities for Audit purpose, performance Analysis, Procedures and Work Instructions improvements, and System continual improvements in line with ISO 9001:2008 and Company Quality Management System (QMS).
• Provide technical input to Trip Investigation, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and be actively involved in troubleshooting and defect eliminations/corrections including advice on instrument spare parts availability and stock levels.Supports the Principal and Senior Systems Engineer to provide relevant necessary support to 3rd party systems maintenance personnel (direct & indirect) to identify development needs and propose development schemes that will allow the individual to accomplish their work.

Qualification/Experience
The right candidate should:

• Possess a University degree (minimum of Second Class Upper) in Engineering or Sciences (Electronics/Electrical, Instrumentation, Control or Mechanical). Relevant professional certification required for the job will be added advantage.
• Possess a minimum of 7 years post-NYSC experience; out of which 4 years must have been spent in general field automation and at least 2 years in a similar function in a reputable organization preferably an LNG plant or in a petrochemical company.
