110,000 SURE-P Employees Face Sack

Posted on Fri 20th Sep, 2013 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (41 comments)

The Subsidy Re-Investment Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) will disengage 110,000 youths it employed under its empowerment programme as from next month, Chairman of the Committee Dr. Christopher Kolade has said.

Speaking when he appeared before the Senate adhoc committee on SURE-P led by Senator Abdul Ningi yesterday in Abuja, Kolade said his committee would not be able to continue to pay the beneficiaries of the programme N10, 000 monthly as a result of paucity of funds.

Under the programme, 3000 youths were engaged from each of the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT but regretted that the committee had initially estimated the sum of N27 billion but the National Assembly only appropriated N9 billion which he said was grossly inadequate.

Kolade said that the committee received the sum of N180 billion last year and about N105 billion this year from the N15 billion monthly accrual to the committee and pays about N13 billion to the employees every month.

SURE-P is an unsure program... now it has sent 110,000 sure youths into an unsure future. Jona may b sure of wat he intended to achieve wit the program but the unsure men delegated to see it through, both lawmakers and executives, only succeded in sinking it into a quicksand called "no funds". But the funds were sure before, wen the program was created. How come theres a paucity now?? Greedy unsure people. And any youth who decides to turn to crime because of this is hyper-unsure too. U have talents. Look within and develop them. The M.D. has spoken.

Nigerian Youths wake up, We have no other
country except
Nigeria, We have been suffering in silence
while our Leaders
put our future in their bank accounts. How
can we remain
like this? How can a youth go to school and
suffered to
graduate at the end no job. You are almost
40 and still your
future is as bleak as a dark room. Did your
parents send you
to school to sit at home because our
Government have failed
us. Let us come out one day and say No. We
must not
remain like this, we cannot all travel abroad
to find a better
life, our better life is here in our country.
We have the money,
oil and resources but only a selected few
have continue to
suck it dry why we keep believing God for a
change, wake up
now I challenge you. We need 500,000
youths in each of the
36states to challenge the Government. We
say NO, we will
destroy this country and rebuild it afresh,
we will Kill those
who stand on our way as they are considered
the enemy. A
man cannot have billions of naira while
millions of youths
roam the streets every day looking for daily
bread. Our
young men must not all be kidnappers, our
young girls must
not all be prostitutes. Get Ready I tell you.
The time has
come for us to react, the only way our
Government listens is
violence, they have shown it to the Niger
delta militants and
now they are planning to show it to the
boko
haram..whereas a simple gesture of N20,000
per month to
the unemployed is rejected and you pay
militants N75,000
per month. How much do they pay as
minimum wage? How
much do they pay to elected officers, we are
going to revolt.
Nigeria will burn to be rebuilt again like
Libya, Iraq Egypt and
Tunisia...please spread this message unless
you want to die
in poverty in a country where God has
destined all of us to
be happy and prosperous...!!! Pls let us wake up.

"Sure p" from day one to me mean noting other than SURE PATH TO POVERTY, PARALYSIS & PERISH AT THE END OF THE JOURNEY. I hope my fellow Nigerian youths have learnt some lessons by never again to expect shoes from a shoeless president or a desirable result from a clueless leader who has always been experimenting with the National Security of lives and properties. Its pitous that an average Nigerian youth is still waitng for the better days ahead rather than facing the inevitable to make the best out of the present day. However, lets remind Uncle JONA & OGA MADAM 'P' & her 'only begoten Prodiga-son, NYESOM WIKE' & their exursted Father Bamanga Tukur that more-surely than Sure-P, we shall surely meet again!!!

jonathan administration have greatly failed us. It keeps telling us that he is clueless on how to govern this nation. Why disengage the loyal youths? why not the disengage the militants the earn huge amouth and the boko haram. Fellow nigerian youths, it is time for the wind of change to blow. For how long shall we continue this way? We need to stand and fight for justice. Our leaders are our problem. Their children are leaving in luxury abroad and in Nigeria why we the less priviledge that voted them in keep suffering. Hav we voted them in to punish usss? Noooo! As the election is approaching, let us begin to strategise on how to save this nation from all this criminals. REVOLUTION IS THE KEY! we need to fight for our right or else the rich will continue to get rich and the poor poorer.. May all those who embezzle our money suffer affliction, may their children die untimely. May they die misteriously, may they not no joy.... AMEN.

I think we have gotten to a point in Nigeria where we must stop deceiving ourselves in this country. We were told that there are 110,000 youth in the Sur-P pay roll and am asking the question-WHERE ARE THESE PEOLPE/UNEMPLOYED YOUTHS? From which state are these youths comming from. I applied for this programme in Enugu where am resident in but up till now i have received no correspondent to my application just like other persons who applied for this programme. Infact am stating it on good authority that SUR-P is not in existence in the whole of southeast and am quit sure the same applies to other part of the country. On the strength of this fact, am of the opinion that the government should re-evaluate this programme; if this programme has engaged about 110,000 youth, morethan fifty thousand of them are either Ghost workers or have no business being there. Therefore, the government officials running this programme should be investigated. I beg our leader and people at the helm of affairs to stop sabotaging the good efforts which some well meaning Nigerian are initiating in trying to solve the issue of employment in this country

Africa most wasteful spending President, Goodluck Jonathan has begun another orgy of lavish spending, as sources have told this reporter on his spending of almost 6 billion Naira 68th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA). The slow performing President arrived at the JFK International Airport in New York early Sunday (today) ahead of the 68th session of the (UNGA). President Jonathan is said to have taken with him his

non elected wife, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, the Minister of State for Works and supervising Minister, National Planning Commission, Alhaji Bashir Yuguda, the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Akinwumi Adesina and a ridiculous number of 600 highly influential civil servants drawn from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as team members, two medical personnel. Another set of delegation led by his special adviser on political matter and National coordinator of the fraudulent group, Goodluck Support Group (GSG) had arrived in New York earlier on Friday to make preparations for the trip as well as inaugurate the USA chapter of the group.
the President was received by the supervising Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, the Nigerian Permanent Representative to the UN, Prof. Joy Ogwu and the Nigerian Ambassador to the U.S., Prof. Ade Adefuye will be staying in his favorite hotel, The Pierre Hotel across from New York’s Central Park in a presidential suite that will cost Nigeria tax payers money to the tune of at least $10,000 per night. He is expected to lodge at the 39th floor of the massive hotel.
A newyork Journalist who visited the hotel noted that wasteful spending President Jonathan was booked to stay in the hotel for five days; which means he will be wasting Nigeria money to the tune of 8 million Naira only for accommodation. The booking is said to have been done by Gulak since Friday.
The President it is gathered is excited about the trip and has decided to spend any amount it needs to see to a smooth journey. Another source noted that he fancies the ‘history’ he will be making being the first President in Africa to address the UN General Assembly this session

He will be speaking after the leaders of Brazil, U.S. and Turkey. “Up to 6 billion Naira has b een budgeted for this UN trip”, the source said.
Out of the five days booked by Goodluck Jonathan, he will pay a visit to his political group, the GSG where he will talk to them into supporting his 2015 ambition. Another source told this reporter that the inauguration of the group was purposely delayed till this moment when Jonathan will come for the UNGA, so as to enable him formalize discussion with the group, as well as dole out money to them.
The GSG has Chief Temitope Ajayi aka Mma Diaspora as its USA coordinator. It will be recalled that Mr Goodluck had engaged in this type of spending spree during a UN gathering last year, which drew wild condemnation from Nigerians and the international community. This year delegation will be the highest number of delegates in the history of the UN.
