Job Description
The Supply Chain Manager has the responsibility to lay down and implement processes for the efficient supply of goods and services needed to run the subsidiary, optimize procurement and supply cost and guarantee the protection of stock quality and integrity.
The Supply Chain Manager will report to Regional Supply Chain Manager.
The position is based in Lagos.
Responsibilities
To develop and drive strategy for strong relationship with host communities.
Thorough knowledge of logistics used to convey goods to their final destination.
Ensures that our import-export operations are in line with local regulations in force.
Optimizes logistics in terms of reliability, cost and time.
Sets out purchasing procedures in line with the company's policy and ensures their application;
Based on purchasing specifications, conducts critical needs analysis, identifies needs not expressed and proposes solutions.
Builds up supply by proposing optimal alternative solutions.
Has good knowledge of the market and suppliers. Ensures that supplier services are in line with regulations and that supplier s meet their commitments (time, cost, quality) to internal customers.
Implements the subsidiary's purchasing and stocks management, and ensures that it is understood and applied by all involved.
Initiates and works on developments in his area of operation, depending on expected market trends.
Guarantees adherence to procedures and rules laid down for stock management and protection and ensures that they are in line with company policy.
Is responsible for physical stock inventory and validates inventory variance following justification.
Collects and conducts item-by-item analysis of expenditure, and proposes and applies solutions to optimize each item of purchase.
Prepares the table of key indicators and gives directions for appropriate improvement.
Validates the analyses and calculations of cost price.
Controls and analyzes load status of trucks and ensures their compliance with regulations.
Monitors tracking, recovery and optimization of bottle rotation.
Organizes and supervises recovery operations of inactive bottles;
Assesses bottle requirements, in order to meet demand of direct customers, the distribution and production network, and optimizes the stock tool required for each of them.
Initiates and justifies requests for investments in new bottles.
Conducts regular transport audits and formulates progress plans of action.
Anticipates security lapses.
Requirements
Must have a B.sc in any discipline, an M.Sc in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5-8 years experience on a managerial level in a similar position
Have a detailed understanding of purchasing and stocks management
Should possess a relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in Logistics management/purchasing
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment
Possess excellent personal organization and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods.
Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
