With funding from the United States aid programs/ the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), as well as private foundations and corporations/ FHI Nigeria is currently engaged in providing public health services and undertaking research in HIV / AIDS, tuberculosis/ malaria/ and reproductive health in partnership with the Government of Nigeria. To strengthen our operations, we seek qualified Nigerian candidates for the following positions:

Section: Laboratory Department

Job Description
The Zonal Manager is part of the senior management team of FHI Nigeria in a decentralized country management structure, and forms part of the strategic team that directs the operations of FHI Nigeria overall. S/he will provide support to and coordination of the work of the FHI Nigeria field office.
 
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with the Senior Laboratory Advisor and the Country Office Laboratory Technical Officers to provide technical support to implement high quality laboratory services in the GHAIN project within the zone;
Coordinate the day-to-day operations of all laboratory services at the state level;
Coordinate laboratory support services for counseling and testing, HIV clinical care, including the management of opportunistic infections (Ols), and the management of ART and PMTCT at the state level;
Coordinate the setting up of ART laboratory service at the state facility level;
Coordinate inventory management and stock taking system of the GHAIN laboratory services in the state; and
Represent FHl/GHAIN on issues of laboratory management of HIV/ AIDS at the state level.

Minimum Recruitment Standards
BSc. and AMLSCN, B. MLS or AMLSCN and FMLSCN,
A minimum of 5 years post-national youth service experience with a minimum of 3 years experience in the provision of laboratory support for HIV/AIDS;
A sound understanding of HIV/AIDS technical areas
Familiarity with the Nigerian public sector health system as well as NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable;
Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
