Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading Global Heavy Duty Company to recruit a Logistics Manager for its operations in Nigeria
Evaluate and review the company’s logistics operations business practices, update and improve process documentation, streamline opportunities, and eliminate non-value added activities
Drive the development and cultivation of positive business relationships with the company’s logistics customers and vendors; direct pricing and performance reviews in order to identify service and revenue improvement opportunities and to manage costs
Control and continuously improve a smooth ordering process with internal distribution partners
Provide support to other company business functions in the development of client solutions and transportation pricing requests
Develop and manage the transport/ logistics operations budget and all related fiscal forecasting and planning activities
Drive and facilitate activities that improve coordination and communication within the organization (e.g. Client Services, Operations, Sales, Finance, HR, IT)
Oversee and ensure all logistics-related operations comply with applicable environmental, health, safety, and other regulatory rules and regulations
Coordinating Import/Export with customs' agents and local authorities and with logistics service providers
Negotiate pricing with local carriers
Maintaining track records of all the shipments
Process the timely renewal of the regulatory agencies permits such as NAFDAC, SON, Plant Quarantine etc
Making useful recommendations for cost savings for more efficient and effective delivery methods, and managing the delivery process to minimize additional costs (i.e. demurrage)
Requirements
BSc in Engineering or any other discipline from a recognised institution
At least 8 years hands on experience in technical/ logistics
A minimum of 5 years experience in a management position
Must have an understanding of import policies and procedures
Excellent Presentation & Communication Skills
Knowledge of safety practises
Possess a proactive personality and be a self starter
Excellent customer relations within the industrial sector
High proficiency in MS Office applications
Should be team oriented and outgoing
