Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing business and marketing of the companies interests in the oil and gas service sector and government agencies.
The role reports to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer.
He will also be involved in gathering of information on customers, generating leads for possible sales and communicating and coordinating with company CEO on new contract development matters.
Increase and maintain customer intimacy through strategic relationship with customer’s management based on a clear understanding of customer’s needs, vision and strategy
Develop strategy around submission of tender and contract documents within key IOC’s and NOC’s
Rigorously follow up of the Bid management process and accurately manage maintaining the CRM database
Provide regular feedback to appropriate senior/group management on the status of customers business, changes in their requirements and organisation so as to ensure that existing and future contracts and bids can be delivered in the most efficient and effective way
Meet with existing and prospect customers to develop effective working relationships and identify and obtain further their future programs
Provide detailed updates and forecasts on changes in client and competitor status and activity to ensure that business opportunities are fully exploited
Write, analyze and evaluate reports on projects or activities of the IOC/NOC… or the Industry
Build key relationships with personnel in all the major stakeholders in the Oil & Gas sector (IOC’s, DPR etc)
Follow up on a daily basis required project or tendering information
Identify areas of opportunity through company Client strengths and Competitors weaknesses and generate internal monthly activity report
Clear understanding of organizational protocol for all companies and Governmental and Non Governmental Bodies having direct and indirect influence on the implementation of the company Client strategy. Identifying key decision makers
To coordinate on a daily basis the activities of the Oil and Gas Industry, especially with NAPIMS,DPR,NIPEX,NNPC or any new Governmental body to be created
Requirements
Must have basic Degree in Arts, Social Science or Engineering and MBA
A min 8 years sales or business development experience of solution selling, gained within Oil & Gas sector
Excellent international mindset gotten from studies abroad and/or experience in a global company
Must have sound business judgment in determining what issues need to be elevated to appropriate level of authority
Must have good knowledge of marketing & efficient sales techniques
Must know how to handle project management and feasibility study
Must have good negotiation, influencing and sales skills
High proficiency in MS Office applications
Must be result oriented and outgoing
