College of Education, Warri, Delta State is recruiting to fill the following position:

Job Title: College Bursar

Location: Warri, Delta State

Responsibilities

• The Bursar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of the College.
• He is responsible to the Provost and through him to the Governing Council, on the management and control of the College financial resources, assets and liabilities.
• Develop and maintain efficient accounting and financial management systems and procedures, and implement effective control system.
• Monitoring of treasury activities and effective management of the College assets and liabilities.
• Ensuring that accurate records are kept, processed and financial statements, trial balances and statements on management accounts are prepared and presented on schedule.
• Ensuring good budget development, enforcement of financial disciplines and application of accounting principles standards and regulations in the system.

Requirements

• A good University Degree (or its equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• A good record of membership of a reputable professional body such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, etc, and must possess the full certificate of such a body.
• A minimum of 17 years cognate working experience in finance/accounting profession, at a senior level, the last 10 years preferably in an educational institution of higher learning and with at least Five (5) years of these as Chief Accountant.
• Proficiency in financial management and administrative ability.
• Possession of working knowledge in Information Communication Technology (ICT) would be an added advantage.
• The applicant must be below the age of 55 years at the point of assumption of duty.
• The candidate must be academically alert and professionally competent with the capability to set up an accounting system that will emphasize productivity and accountability among other things.
• The Bursar will be expected to give goad professional leadership and on the job proficiency training to the Bursary staff.
• The applicant must enjoy good health to be able to endure the rigours of the duties of the Bursar.
