The
Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a regional group of fifteen West African countries. Founded on 28 May 1975, with the signing of the Treaty of Lagos, its mission is to promote economic integration across the region. Considered one of the pillars of the African Economic Community, the organization was founded in order to achieve collective self-sufficiency for its member states by creating a single large trading bloc through an economic and trading union. It also serves as a peacekeeping force in the region. The organization operates officially in three co-equal languages French, English, and Portuguese.

Job Title: Programme Officer Program Management

Supervisor: Principal Programme Officer, Programmes Management
Duties and Responsibilities
- Engages in planning, implementation of early warning programs and analysis activities;
- Assist in resource planning to achieve maximum impact
- Attends meetings, forums, workshops, seminars, etc as appropriate and assist in the representation of the unit;
- Provides adequate and timely management information to the Manager;
- Participates with the Analysis and System management team in setting project management priorities;
- Reviews all documents and correspondence produced by the Programs unit and ensure that timely action is taken on these communications;
- Develops relevant indicators/checklists/formats for reporting according to the requirements of ECOWAS and the various partners;
- Contributes to the preparation and publication of program reports in accordance with the prescribed schedule;
- Contributes to the preparation of annual work plans, as needed;
- Assists in the review, clarification and editing of project reports, as necessary;
- Ensures all unit procedures, practices, guidelines and formats are dully followed by the team;
- Assists the PMU Manager with budget monitoring
- Act upon tasks assigned and delegated by the program manager.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
Educational Qualification
- A Bachelor of Science degree in any of the Social Sciences, Law, Communication, Information, , Political Science, Arts or Business Administration.
- A higher degree in the relevant field may substitute for two years of professional experience.
Experience
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
Computer Skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel, Ms Power Point, Access.
Age
Candidate should not be 50 years old or over at the point of recruitment and must be a citizen of one of the ECOWAS member states.
Language
Must be fluent in one of the official languages of the Commission; English, French and Portuguese. A working knowledge of another would be an advantage.
Remuneration
Annual Salary: USD 36,901 - USD 44,469
