Traffic Lead at Africa Magic

Africa Magic seeks to appoint a qualified individual to assume responsibility as Traffic Lead: Africa Magic. This person will report to the Regional Director for West Africa and will be based at our offices in Lagos, Nigeria

Job Title: Traffic Lead

Location: Lagos

Context
The Traffic Lead will be responsible for overseeing the traffic function related to content destined for Africa Magic channels and platforms. The strategy of the traffic function involves the successful and timeous delivery and processing of all content acquired by the Channel Teams. The Traffic Lead will manage and work with their team, which include the traffic planning, traffic coordination, traffic quality control functions. This person should implement and Lead the content traffic strategy for Africa Magic and ensure cost-effective, efficient internal and external content delivery and processing workflows. This person will be required to regularly meet and work with the major stakeholders of M-Net/Africa Magic

• DSTV Media Sales
• MultiChoice
• DStv Online (TVOD, VOD, and Box Office)
• DStv Mobile
• Local and regional suppliers of transmission material

Outputs:

• Effectively Leading all aspects of the Africa Magic traffic function
• Implementing the content traffic strategy for Africa Magic and other MultiChoice platforms as required
• Developing workflows and content priority reports that will guide internal processing operations for the various licensed and/or commissioned content categories of Africa Magic, MultiChoice, DStv Online DStv Mobile and GOtv. This includes M-Net channels, 3rd party, mobile, TVOD, VOD, SVOD, live broadcast, digital file delivery, day-and-date and content customization workflows.
• Generating regular reports, which will guide internal and external operations regarding the workflows for acquired content of all platforms.
• Compiling regular reports and presentations for internal stakeholders within the Business regarding the status of their content within the content value chain.
• Investigating cost-effective, efficient and effective content delivery methods for physical, digital and satellite delivery.
• Supporting the Channel Heads with the following ancillary components/projects
• Migration from physical to digital file delivery
• Audio censoring
• Programme acceptance and quality control
• Editing of content
• Ad hoc
• Allocating and managing content delivery costs for various platforms and channels.
• Managing Invoices and payments related to traffic
• Input in the budgeting process regarding all content related costs.
• Managing any new developments impacting on the performance of the traffic business unit.
• Managing overflow within the traffic business unit where required.

Knowledge / Qualifications

• Relevant degree/ tertiary qualification
• Operational experience within the broadcasting environment will be an advantage.
• Understanding of contractual agreements would be an advantage
• Understanding of various physical and digital content delivery methods would be an advantage
• Fair knowledge of courier and customs procedures would be an advantage
• Working knowledge of Synergy would be an advantage
• Must have strong computer skills
