Provost at Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Kabba

The Governing Council, Kogi State College of Education (Technical) Kabba, is desirous of appointing a new Provost for the institution at the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent Provost. Applications are therefore, invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment as Provost of the College.

Duties
The Provost is the Chief Executive Officer of the College. The successful candidate is expected to provide the required academic, administrative and professional leadership for the College in executing the broad policies laid down by the Governing Council for the achievement of the objectives for which the institution was established. He/she shall foster good rapport with the relevant organs of’ the State Government, the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), other agencies and professional bodies for the purpose of attaining the status of centre of excellence by the College.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates must possess at least, Master's Degree from recognized University in a field relevant to at least one of the disciplines in the College. The possession of Ph.D is an added advantage.
• Candidates must possess a professional teaching qualification (minimum of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGE)
• Candidates must have held Senior Teaching/Research and top administrative posts in an institution of higher learning plus a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification cognate experience and must not be below the rank of Chief Lecturer in a College of Education or a Senior Lecturer in a University or equivalent institution.
• Candidates must show evidence of good track record in result oriented researches, attaining national and international status in his/her research achievement, Candidates must be proficient in ICT packages.
• Candidates must be of good conduct, possess sense of discipline, dedication, drive, resourcefulness and be able to command the respect and loyalty of’ the members of staff and students of the College. He/she must be someone not likely to promote personal, ethnic, political, religious and other private interests.
• Candidates should not be more than sixty (60) years of age at the assumption of duty.

Conditions of Appointment
The appointment is for an initial period of four (4) years and may be renewed for one more term of four (4) years and no more. The salary attached to the post is consolidated. Other fringe benefits are as applicable to Provosts of Colleges of Education in Nigeria and as may he determined from time to time by the State Government.
