Job Title: Business Development Associate

Location:
Lagos

Job Description:
  • This Associate Level position is primarily responsible for the acquisition of new business for tequipe consulting. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and qualifying leads that generate a growing pipeline of sales.
  • The Business Development Associate will work with clients to assess their needs and propose, pitch, and present business solutions to clients, through various avenues such as telecommunication, in-person, written proposals etc.
  • This role requires a self-driven professional, skilled at identifying opportunities, building impactful relationships, working across organizational boundaries, influencing key stakeholders, and driving company growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of tequipe’s capabilities and offerings.
  • Stay current with industry and competitive research and information to enable rich client dialogue; maintain an understanding of client business challenges, industry trends and markets; demonstrate the knowledge to position and communicate tequipe’s capabilities that align to client business objectives and initiatives.
  • Produce comprehensive target lists of organizations within a specific target market through online research, directory listings and other accessible means.
  • Hunt for new business daily through a combination of cold calling, lead follow up and target account prospecting.
  • Qualify new leads and identify decision makers within the target organizations
  • Communicate effectively with, and understand client needs to establish an ongoing, harmonious relationship.
  • Consult with clients to generate unique and dynamic solutions that fit within the company’s service offerings.
  • Coordinate with the technical teams for design and proposal submissions.
  • Provide excellent service to clients by responding to inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and service offering of the competition.
  • Drive new sales and move sales opportunities to closure through demos, proof of concept, creating responses to request for proposals, participation in marketing events; deliver intellectual capital and provide input to sales strategy.
  • Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelors’ degree in any discipline is required.
Desired Skills and Experience

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional sales experience (not including retail).
  • Sales or business development experience in the I.T industry desired
Required Skills
  • Strong communications skills; in person, and by phone, writing and electronic media
  • Self-starter, goal oriented: able to organize, manage and execute a sales pipeline
  • Must have positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and maintain good professional business ethics at all times
  • Ability to successfully prospect and qualify new opportunities.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment without constant supervision.
  • Strong levels of PC literacy
Desired Skills:
  • Business IT systems knowledge and/or IT sales experience
  • Experience of specific vertical markets & their IT issues
  • Strong, demonstrated presentation skills to groups of all sizes and levels
  • Desire and ability to assume increasing role and responsibilities commensurate with performance.
  • Continuously strive to improve sales effectiveness and business acumen.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
