Position Description
The Investment Analyst is responsible for the implementation of the investment guidelines, policies and strategies in line with clients’ investment objectives. He/She will also generate security research report on companies within the investment universe of the company.
Key Responsibilities/Key Result Areas:
Generate ideas for the optimal allocation of clients assets based on the investment objectives
Implement the execution of approved mandates
Ensure strict adherence to ethical standards of asset management
Prepare, and Maintain accurate blotter for daily trading activities
Deliver or surpass budgetary estimates regarding fee income from portfolios on a quarterly basis
Deliver competitive performance on portfolios by generating returns in excess of benchmark
Implement the investment guidelines and strategies of Funds and portfolios in line with relevant Rules, policies and procedures
Generate security research on companies periodically and monitor the effects of government policies and macro-economic developments
Generate quarterly market review update for clients
Measure and evaluate portfolio performance periodically in line with investment objectives
Ensuring SIAML continues to deepen its share of wallet with clients by working Relationship Managers to provide strategic value added offerings suitable to each client

Required Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge, Experience and Personal Competencies
Knowledge
University Degree in the Social Sciences (minimum of 2nd Class Upper Division )
Second Degree or Advanced/Professional Qualification in Business/Finance disciplines (Advantage)
Understanding of portfolio management strategies, fixed income investments, financial statement analysis and quantitative analysis
Understanding of Nigerian Capital market, SEC rules, CAMA, BOFIA, IFRS etc
Excellent use of MS Office Applications, and other Technology based tools
Experience
Minimum of 2years experience in finance or any relevant field
Preference for prior experience in an Analyst/Investment Management role

Daily review of the Funds to ensure they are positioned to meet investment objectives and rebalanced as at when due
Implement strategic asset allocation to ensure competitive medium to long-term returns

Required to make sound and reasonable recommendations on the portfolios under management in line with agreed investment policies and implement decisions from Investment Committee meetings.
Ability to determine optimal asset mix by keeping abreast with market developments and trends
