Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will carry out the following responsibilities:
Monitors and prepares periodic reports for the Section Chief on programme implementation and advices on corrective actions which may be required. Ensure that the documents and files
Support the collation of social statistical Data in all WASH Associated States, develop GIS data base of project related States/Villages, act as resource person in training government, WES and other sectorial/field staff in use of Geographic Information System/Global Positioning System. Provide support to develop presentations on GIS Mapping technics and facilitate the development of Shilf info of Nigeria Country Office by coordinating with consultants in teh preparation of the Country's Shape Files of Nigeria States and LGAs
Monitors Cash Assistance to Goverment and follow-up on outstanding advancaces with appropriate counterparts. Conduct needed training of government partners/NGOs on HACT requirements.
Monitors implementation of supply plans, studies/research plan, Annual Work Plan based on reports provided by Project Officers. Support the section in conducting End Use Monitoring of Supplies
Monitors programme financial implementation through Vision andalert Project officers on low implementation
Serve as Certifying Officer for expenditures incurred under the sections budget allocation and prepares payment requests for approval by the Sectional Chief
Serves as Seciton's focal point on SSAs and third party engagement of consultants. REviews SSA requests prepared by Project Officers to ensure consistency with UNICEF Regulations before approval by Section Chief. Tracks payments made to Contractors and certifies payments
Qualifications
Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in a field related to the work of the organization such as in Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting
Seven years progressively responsible experience in programme co-ordination and administrative work
Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of local working language of the duty station, an asset
Very good knowledge of computer applications, knowledge of GIS an asset
Good interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of UNICEF procedures/policies an added advantage
Ability to work harmoniously in an international and multicultural setting
