Michael Stevens Consulting - Our client, an extra-ministerial department set-up to oversee the management of pensions for pensioners not transiting to the Defined Contributory Scheme has recently received the mandate to carry out its functions as stipulated by the Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2004.

Job Description

• This role is primarily responsible for the design, deployment and maintenance of IT solutions.
• The Job Holder would report to the Deputy Director/Assistant Director, I.T.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and assume accountability for all implementation
• Oversee web developers, ensure technical solutions are properly architected and specified, and review all code for quality assurance purposes.
• Define and implement software, and web solutions management processes and procedures.
• Coordinate the management and maintenance of the Organisation's website.
• Collaborate effectively with creative team and web designers during the creative process.
• Manage various aspects of ongoing support and maintenance engagements.
• Resolve user enquiries and issues.
• Continuously elicit feedback from users and periodically evaluate system performance.
• Develop IT solutions in line with defined system development policies and procedures and in conjunction with relevant interfacing functional units.
• Coordinate and supervise user acceptance testing in liaison with relevant business teams as well as continuously review risks to aid risk mitigation and ensure user solution fit.
• Prepare and update, as necessary, policies and procedures manuals for newly deployed applications.
• Ensure adequate user training on new IT solutions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Professional qualification and certifications (ITIL, PRINCE 2, PMP, and SCJP etc.) will be an added advantage.
• 2-10 years work experience of which at least 2 years should have been in similar function.

Key Competency Requirements:

• Expert knowledge and experience in software & web development using programming languages such as Php, Java, C++, Java script, XML, HTML and other web development technologies
• Working knowledge of IT tools such as CASE, SQL, web development tools, project management tools, relevant database management system, testing tools and operating system.
• Good system/solution design and management skills.
