Job Title: Head, IT Business Engagement & Strategy

Job Description:
The purpose of this role is in two folds:
Assist the Group Head of IT to analyze, formulate and implement strategies
Put in place a standard architecture and framework to enhance service delivery to the bank while maintaining world class standards.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain IT strategy that is in alignment with the Bank’s corporate strategy
Proactively analyze and make recommendation on the improvement and alignment of IT structure and processes in line with the Bank’s overall strategic focus
Assist the Group Head of IT in preparing budget, monitoring budget utilization and implementing cost containment measures
Ensure optimization of services delivered by IT in support of the Bank’s strategy
Assist the Group Head of IT in defining, implementing and managing IT Policies and procedures, while maintaining compliance with existing policies and procedures
Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities.
Supervise the Client Engagement Team that interacts with other departments in the bank, with the intent of improving profitability of the bank as well as efficient service delivery, by leveraging technology services and support
Assist the Group Head of IT in metrics measurement and KPI appraisals of all teams in IT to reward top performance and improve the returns of low performers.
Aside the above core function, the job role is expected to actively participate in key initiatives, including, but not limited to the following:
Implementation of Finacle Core Banking Application
Architecting the technical design to support a robust Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution
Facilitate and coordinate implementation of CBN IT Standards
Development of management dashboard to support the Bank’s Direct Marketing Department
Support the selection and implementation of a Retail Lending Solution for the Bank
Design the data architecture to support the application (S-MART) used by Relationship Managers. Also work closely with the vendor of S-MART to address identified issues
Coordinate rollout of MoneyGram application – Phase 1 of the rollout process has been completed
Plan, and coordinate remediation of all audit exceptions
Develop a mechanism to support tracking of activities of IT Staff
Performance will be assessed largely by the following metrics:
IT Production Change Management – success rate of changes applied to any service in production environment
Documentation of IT processes
Adherence to IT Quality Standards – rate of re-work
% of approved strategic initiatives implemented
Review of IT policies and procedures
% Compliance with the Bank’s IT Policies & Procedures
Expense/Budget control
NPS (Net Promoter Score)
Qualifications
The preferred candidate should have at least 10 years of cognate experience
First Degree in a Physical or Numerate Science or Engineering
ITIL Foundation
Banking knowledge
Management and Communication skills
In addition, the preferred candidate should have the following skills / competencies
