Job Title: Fabrication Helper

Location: Lagos
Reporting to: Senior Fitting Instructor

Purpose/Role

• To support Fabrication School with plates, pipes and other materials needed for the delivery of practical Fabrication Training.
• To collaborate with the Fitting Instructors team with the day to day supervision/ monitoring of the Fitter trainees.

Key Aims and Objectives:

• To cut and dispense plates/pipes needed for training to trainees during their practical training.
• To support the instructor in sourcing for gas when needed for training purpose.
• To collaborate with the fabrication team to execute any small fabrication project(s) assigned to the Training Centre.

Prime Responsibilities and Duties

• Ensure and promote, as far as is practicable, a safe working environment.
• Ensure that any hand tools used by him are fit for purpose and returned at shift end.
• To assist with minor works as requested.
• Ensure that information/instructions received are fully understood.
• Ensuring that the general workshop area is clean and tidy particularly the welding booths and heavy cutting/grinding areas.
• Replacing empty cutting gas bottles with full as required.
• Ensure that that plates and pipes are properly prepped for workshop training delivery.
• Other duties as may be requested by the Fitter Instructor and/or the Welding Instructor.

Qualifications
The Persons:

• Proficient in Fabrication Fitting, preferably, Fitter 2
• A minimum of School Certificate qualification
• Good communication skills
• Works well in a team
• Demonstrates commitment to highest standards of ethics, integrity and HSE
