University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) as a tertiary health facility came into being in 1973 following the enactment of an edict (number 12). As the sixth of the 1st generation Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria, it was established to complement her sister institution, University of Benin, and to provide secondary and tertiary care to the then Midwestern Region (now Edo and Delta State) and its environs.
Applications are hereby invited from interested candidates for Admission into full time Post Basic Nursing Programme for 2015/2016 Academic session:
- Diploma in Ophthalmic Nursing & Management.
- Diploma in Perioperative Nursing & Management.
Entry Requirements
Applicant should possess the following:
- West Africa School Certificate GCE/NECO O/L with 5 credits in not more than two, sittings. Subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology;
- Be a qualified nurse duty registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
Duration of Programme
12 calendar months.

Method of Application Requests for admission form should be directed to the Office of Assistant Director (Post Basic Nursing Education, School of Post Basic Nursing Studies), Accompanied by evidence of payment of prescribed application fees of
N10,000 or its equivalent in Dollars or Pounds for foreign applicants. (Payable at any branch of
Fidelity Bank A/C Numbers 5030047475). The Candidates should submit completed forms along with photocopies of all relevant credentials (3 copies each) to the source of purchase.
Referees
- Candidates are to request three referees to write directly to the AD/Ag. Principal, School of Post Basic Nursing Studies.
Submission of Application Forms
Completed application forms should be submitted on or before the closing date while entrance examination for both programmes is slated for
Monday 1st June 2015 at 8:30am, while oral interview is for
2nd to 4th June at the Hospital premises. Candidates are to come with original copies of their credentials.
