Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Job Title: Team Lead, Media/Community Relation

Job Summary
Responsible for creating and executing the company’s media and community relations strategy.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and media strategy.
• Build brand equity–develop branding strategy and guidelines.
• Manage company reputation- conduct and respond to press enquiries, investigate negative press;periodically place business up dates in both the electronic and print media.
• Manage media relations and publicity drive–advertisements(print,TV,radio,social media, etc.)
• Coordinate,review and endorse all content/ messages to be released in the public domain
• Develop and produce publication sonaregularbasis to share relevant in formation with the workforce(newsletters,upcoming events,etc.)
• Develop and implement a robust community relations strategy that will ensure customers are effectively enlightened about the vision and objective of the company.
• Develop key strategic messages from Executive Management to external stakeholders

Competency and Skill Requirements

• Excellent understanding of the media.
• Strong journalism skills
• Be adaptable and able to meet deadlines on assignments, juggle multiple demands and to work with all types of individuals.
• Strong skills in negotiating, planning, problem solving, and timely problem escalation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills

Experience and Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mass Communication or any other related course.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• 5 years cognate experience.
