Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Job Summary
Define and implement Kaduna Electric's network architecture to ensure secure, scalable and flexible ICT infrastructure.
To build a fast, effective and reliable network connectivity within Kaduna Electric office.
Maintaining of links and solving any problems that may occur with networks.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure ICT network connectivity is available to all system users in Kaduna Electric offices
Install, configure, support and monitor Kaduna Electric's ICT network, website performance, and perform needed upgrades and systems maintenance
Define a disaster recovery and backup contingency plan
Define steps for diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software and other ICT network problems.
Coordinating between network and data communications systems, as well as with network security operations.
Participate in purchasing decisions of ICT hardware and software
Evaluate and recommend network technologies that will allow KADUNA ELECTRIC to achieve its business and ICT goals.
Implement / update all of the appropriate processes and procedures to ensure Kaduna Electric's network is running at an optimum level.
Maintain all communication systems, routers, switches, mobile devices, security firewalls and network security, patching and licenses and vendor management.
Provide operational and management of computer systems and networks
Assist in providing training and support for the team of engineers
Supervise subordinates, implement solutions, provide estimates and plan networks
Design and implement network infrastructures and network security
Support the ICT network administration
Ensure optimal network uptime
Recommending network specifications for new and existing infrastructure
Perform regular maintenance procedures and ensure the necessary security measures are taken
Manage the network infrastructure, workstations, servers, printers, Prepaid and Post-paid meters as well as all KADUNA ELECTRIC ICT systems.
Contributing to and maintain system standards
Carry out other duties as may be assigned
Competency and Skill Requirements
Experience in design and development of LAN and WAN network with different topologies using Radio, GPRS/GSM, PLC, and Fibre Optic
Specialize in
Specialize in routers and switches configuration from different vendors and different protocols like MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP etc.
Specialize in server applications and operating systems deployment
Specialize in firewall and intrusion detection systems
Configure Network and Server Clustering and understand load-balancing technologies
Knowledge of Technical support, Systems and Network Administration processes and procedures within KADUNA ELECTRIC
Ability to provide technical support and working to set deadlines given the available resources
Working innovatively to employ and deploy systems and network administration technologies
Actively looking for opportunities to improve Kaduna Electric’s Systems and Network administration environment to meet its defined objectives
Working with a variety of other ICT staff and supporting existing processes but seeking to improve where possible
Ability to effectively provision network security services to protect Kaduna Electric’s ICT infrastructure
Ability to adhere to Network management best practices
Knowledge working with Microsoft Office applications
Carry out other duties as may be assigned.
Experience and Minimum Requirements
5 - 9 years' work experience involving managing ICT systems
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Masters in IT systems management or related field
MBA will also be added advantage
Work experience in the administration of corporate applications
ICT Projects delivery experience
Three years supervisory experience
Extensive experience with Management Information Systems in energy utilities
Certifications such as Comptia A+, MSCE, OCA, CCNP, CCIE, Networking +, Fibre Technologies, Microwave Radio, will be an advantage.
