Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Kaduna Electric is looking to employ young, vibrant professionals to fill the position below in the Engineering and Technical Services Department:

Job Title: Data Analyst Officer

Job Status: Full-time

Job Summary

• This office will be responsible for turning power system data into useful technical information for energy business decisions. This will be achieve by conducting full lifecycle activities including requirements analysis and design, develop analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Collate power system operational and load data from TCN System operations, central dispatch office, Injection substations, Other DISCOs, Bulk power suppliers and other captive customers.
• Develop and implement power system data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality and accuracy.
• Interpret the power system data, analyze the results using statistical techniques and provide continuing reports.
• Maintain the developed power system databases/data systems.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
• Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
• Provide daily report on power system status and network condition to HOU and other relevant officers.

Experience and Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Relevant discipline.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), XML, Javascript, ETL etc.
• Master's degree /or certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2-6 year cognate experience
• Professional Membership is an added advantage

Competency and Skill Requirements

• Be adaptable and juggle multiple demands.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
• Adequate knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
