As a Senior Financial Accountant you will act as a financial advisor to the MD.
The position is responsible for developing and managing financial relationships within the business units, external partners, vendors and other service providers.
The position will also require a person that will provide business analysis, suggest and improve on existing Internal Control System.
Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Act as the financial advisor to the MD
Reporting and Analysis:
Deliver monthly and quarterly reports (actual, budget & forecast) and other ad hoc reports that clearly show business performance.
Complete and track accounts performance (Account Receivables & Payables).
Analyze the business and service performance (ratios and other finance indicators), providing insight that will help the business unit adjust and grow the business in accordance with management's set goals.
Monitor competitive effects and trends and ensure that reports are accurate, concise, and timely.
Relationship Management:
Develop a strong collaborative working relationship with the Auditors and other financial advisors (Bankers, Tax consultants and Regulators) for the benefit of the business.
Manage the financial impact of agreements (Service level agreements, Lease Agreements, Subscriber Management, licenses etc), respond quickly to requests, work collaboratively to solve business problems, and establish direct communication regularly.
Deliverables/Outputs:
Review and evaluate cost reduction opportunities
Report and analyse financial performance of projections and actual
Formulate Strategies: Monitor the cash flows and use the same to predict future spending needs.
Formulate strategies to be used in financing short & long-term financial needs (forecast).
Minimize Financial Risk:
Update management on changes in legislation and regulations in financial planning & reporting that may affect business operations
Research the different factors influencing the business performances and develop internal control systems for the purpose of minimizing the financial risk.
Requirements
Experience / Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA)
MBA or related Master's Degree
8 - 10 years of finance experience
Telecom industry experience preferred
Ability to work in a diverse multicultural environment
Ability to prioritize and handle several tasks simultaneously
Must be a fast learner
Strong analytic skills in assessing business opportunities and tracking results
Strong attention to detail - accurate data gathering, insightful analysis, ability to manage with flawless execution
Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork and project management skills required
Ability to operate in an environment with minimal supervision
Computer skills required: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point
Advanced Excel User, Great Plains
Ability to communicate in writing, through email, reports, or orally that is related to complex accounts matters
The ability to plan, organize, prioritize and process multiple and simultaneous projects and assignments accurately
