Job description

• The shipping and logistics clerk will be responsible for preparing the paperwork for the shipments.
• He/she will report to the National Depot Manager

Responsibilities

• The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
• Coordination of shipping documents with overseas suppliers
• Checking and supervision of all relevant import documentation including RAR applications
• Computing custom duties payable, facilitating assessment with customs and payments at banks to ensure smooth clearance of consignments
• Following up on vessel arrivals and inter-depot transports
• Following up on clearing of cargoes with clearing agents
• Liaising and developing strong working relationships with all logistics suppliers e.g. transporters, custom officials, clearing agents etc.
• Monitoring sales and stock reports
• Assisting National depot manager in all logistics matters i.e. depot set-ups and openings, movement of containers, sourcing and maintenance of equipment
• Fulfilling of general secretary duties including emailing, filing, preparing and sending documents and correspondence

Qualifications and Experience

• Must have 2-5 years experience in similar position
• Must be very competent in the use of Microsoft Excel
• Must be familiar with the Internet and shipping line websites
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have the culture of attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self motivated person with pragmatic approach to issues
