The Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya was established in 1977. It is located in Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The College was established to produce quality teachers to assume teaching posts and posts of responsibility in primary and post primary educational institutions and educational administration among others. The College has since been producing quality teachers for the State and other States of the Federation.

Job Description

• The Director of Works is responsible to the Provost of the College for the smooth operation of the Department of Works and maintenance; and by extension of the whole College.

Requirements
A candidate for the position of Director of Works should:

• At least not be below the rank of a Chief Engineer/Architect from either a College of Education or University or any organization.
• Possess at least a good Engineering/Architecture Degree in relevant field plus at least 15 years of cognate experience.
• Must be a registered member with the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) or Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) of Nigeria Institute of Architecture (NIA).
• Must be of good conduct, posses sense of discipline, dedication, drive, resourcefulness and be able to command the respect and loyalty of the staff of the Department.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be medically fit for the job.

Conditions of Service

• This is according to the provisions of the Law and as obtained In other similar Colleges of Education In the country.
• The appointment is for a term of four (4) years in the first instance and renewable subject to satisfactory performance for another four (4) years and no more.
• The salary of the Director of Works is CONTISS 15 and will enjoy other benefits as may be approved by the Kaduna State Government from time to time.
• Any candidate who has less than four years to leave the service of the State Government or more than fifty-six (56) years at the time of the appointment need not apply.

  • Names and addresses of three (3) referees who are to forward confidential reports on the applicant to the Registrar. The referees should be able to attest to the candidate’s claims of professional and managerial capabilities as well as his/her character.
