The Institute of Security, Nigeria Announces her 2012/2013 Admissions into Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Security Operation and management and Specialist Courses in Security

The Human Resources Development Centre, University of Lagos in Collaboration with the Institute of Security, Nigeria invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following part-time security programmes:-

1. Diploma in Security operations and Management Programme
2. Advanced Diploma in Security Operations and Management Programme
3. Specialist Course in Intelligence and investigation Studies
4. Specialist Course in Law Enforcement and preventive Diplomacy
5. Specialist Course in Corporate and industrial Security

Targetted Audience
The programme is designed for Officers and men in the Armed Forces, Police, Customs, Prisons. NDLEA, Immigration and NSCDC. Head of Security Units, Security Managers. Private and Corporate Investigators, Intelligence Managers, Operators of Security Services. Training Managers, Insurance Managers, Factory Managers and Personnel Managers, Safety Managers, Auditors. Officers and Supervisors of Security Outfits, Legal Advisers. Prosecutors, Analysts and Examiners.


(1)  Diploma in Security Operations and Management Programme

Entry Requirement

• Holders of WAEC, SSCE/GCE (O/L) with pass in minimum of five papers, Grade II Teachers Certificate, Practising and in-service Training course Certificates issued by Military, Paramilitary and Police Training Schools

Matured candidates:

• Five years working experience
• 30 years and above
• A minimum of 3 passes at WAEC/GCE Level
• Holders of WASC, SSCE or GCE (O/L)

Duration: Nine(9) Months
Tuition Fee: N40, 000.00
Course Material Fee: N10,000.00

 (2)   Advanced Diploma in Security Operations and Management programme

Entry Requirements

• Holders of University Degree, HND and relevant professional qualifications in appropriate disciplines particularly security, social sciences, humanity, management, physical sciences, Engineering and Technology.
• Holders of OND, NCE in security or Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Crime Management, Social Science, Humanity, Management, Physical Sciences, Engineering and Technology plus three years of experience as Senior Security Officer/ Manager/ Controller.
• Diploma in Security Operations and Management

Duration : Nine(9) months.
Tuition Fee: N50, 000.00
Course Material Fee: N10, 000.00

(3) Specialist Security Programmes

Entry Requirements
All applicant for admission to these Specialist Security programmes shall be holders:

• Institute of Security, Nigeria Certificates of completion of professional levels of Modules III & IV
• Advanced Diploma in Security Operations and Management or Internationally recognized Professional Diploma Certificate.
• Professional Certificate in Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional   Certified Investigator (PCI), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Fraud Examiners.
• Professional Certificate issued by Military and Paramilitary Colleges and Academy   in Nigeria.
• Graduates of universities holding a degree in humanity, Behavioral Sciences, science and technology with security and protection background

Duration: Six (6) Months
Tuition Fee: N65,000.00
Course Material Fee: N20,000.00

Commencement of Programmes
Saturday, 3rd November, 2012

• Make payment at any branch of the designated banks stated below:
• WEMA BANK PLC , ECO BANK PLC, ACCESS BANK PLC, FIRST BANK PLC at the University of Lagos Branches only.
• Applicants are expected to take the printed payment Reference Number (voucher) to the bank for payment of N5,000.00 which is the cost of Application Form.
• After payment, click here to login with Payment Reference Number as username and provide surname in lowercase as password.
• Click the Edit Application form link to fill the Application form and upload digital passport (jpeg format) which should not be more than 15kb in size and must be in white background. The acceptable dimension is: width- 235 pixels or 35mm, height- 314 pixels or 40mm (Failure to comply with specified image format may lead to disqualification).
• After filing the form completely, Click “SUBMIT FORM” button after filling the form completely; else click the “DECLINE” button. After submission, applicants are required to print the completed Application Form for submission at the Human Resources Development Centre Secretariat.
• Submit the printed form along with two (2) sets of your Credentials.

Note: Kindly note that if payment is not made five (5) days after obtaining Payment Reference Number (voucher), the pre-application access would be DECLINED. Applicants will then be expected to refill the pre-application form to obtain a new Payment Reference Number ( voucher)

Collection of Admission letters:
ADMISSION LETTERS for short-listed candidates are to be collected at the Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) Secretariat as from 22nd of October, 2012.
Admission letters will not be posted to individual candidates. However, the admission lists will be available on HRDC Portal .
