The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is an international non-profit agricultural research-for-development (R4D) organization established in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and a member of the CGIAR Consortium. Our R4D approach is anchored on the development needs of the tropics. We work with partners to enhance crop quality and productivity, reduce producer and consumer risks, and generate wealth from agriculture. Job Title: Driver I

Recruitment Type: National (1-year renewable contract)

Position/Responsibilities

• Drive AfricaYam project staff, visiting partners, short-time consultants and other staff;
• Ensure kitting (tools, medical box, and accessories) are in good condition and vehicles are clean at all times;
• Carry out routine vehicle maintenance checks (cleaning of inside and outside, daily/regular check-up of the engine oil level, the battery and the air filter etc.)
• Record trip details in the vehicle logbook including filling of the monthly time sheet;
• Airport pickup and transfer of project staff and related stakeholders;
• Ensure courteous and prompt attention to passengers' needs while being conveyed;
• Ensure safety of vehicle and passengers property Perform all other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification, Experience and Skills

• O’Level’s certificate with Minimum of three (3) years professional driving experience preferably with a reputable organization.

The ideal candidate must:

• Be familiar with Nigeria and west Arica Road.
• Have good communication skill.
