News: FG Confirms Payment of N5000 Stipend to Unemployed Youth Next Year

The All Progressives Congress, APC, led Federal Government yesterday said that the payment of the N5000 stipend to the unemployed Nigerians will commence next year.

It regretted that the payment could not take off now due to non budgetary provisions.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalong revealed this yesterday in Abuja when he paid a condolence visit to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun at the national secretariat in Abuja on the demise of Prince Abubakar Audu, the erstwhile governorship candidate of the party in Kogi State election.

Dalong who spoke with Journalists assured that APC government would also create more jobs to fulfill its campaign promises

I want to thank the federal government for this wonderful idea of empowering youths. Well I just wanted to suggest an idea to make sure that all the unemployed youths like me benefits from this plan. Firstly I think the government should set up a skill acquisition training school for all the unemployed youths which will be established in every Area and local government. Which may run form 9am to 2pm every day except Sundays then at the end of the month five thousand naira benefits will be given to only those who attends the class completely. That's way you can fish out those who are employed and still want to benefit from the plan. Food for thought.

@Lizzy 5K is too meagre 2 attend class b4 u earn it. What's d use if u'll end up spending it all 4 transportation to attend d class.
