College Librarian at the Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Kabba

The Governing Council of Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Kabba, in the exercise of it’s powers as contained in the law that established the College, has declared the position of the College Librarian vacant and wishes to fill it.

Applications are therefore, invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position below:

Job Title: College Librarian

Location: Kogi

Duties

• The College Librarian is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and co-ordination of services of the College Library.

Qualification and Experience

• The candidate must possess a minimum of Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized university with at least 15 years of cognate experience.
• Possession of a Doctorate Degree will be an added advantage.
• The candidate must show evidence of thorough understanding of ICT and application of new technologies in library services and operations.
• He/she must also show evidence of contributions to knowledge through research and publications in reputable journals and must be a member of Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria as well as Nigeria Library Association.
• Candidates applying for the post must not be below the rank of Deputy Librarian in their present employment.

Conditions of Service

• The College Librarian is a Principal Officer and head of the College Library. The successful candidate shall be placed on CONTEDISS 15.
• He/she shall hold office for an initial term of five (5) years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a final term of five (5) years subject to satisfactory performance.
• Other relevant benefits and allowances are as contained in the College Conditions of Service as approved by the Governing Council and the State Government.
