News: Police Recruitment Exercise begin this Month - Police Service Commission (PSC)

The Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC), Mr Mike Okiro, has disclosed that the recruitment of 10,000 policemen into the Force would commence in March. Okiro stated this in Lagos during the Achiever's Award held in his honour by a national newspaper.

He, however, did not mention the date and places the recruitment would start stressing that lack of fund to implement the project had delayed the exercise.

Okiro, who was the 13th indigenous Inspector-General of Police (IG), noted that the current number of police officers were inadequate to police the Nigeria population.

President Muhammadu Buhari, had on August 17, 2015 announced plans by the Federal Government to recruit 10,000 new police officers.
