Job Title: University Librarian

• The University Librarian is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the University Library and the co-ordination of the Library services in the University.
• He is also responsible for the short, medium and long term planning, administration and expansion of collections and services of the Library and their maintenance at a level to meet the teaching, research and all programmes of the University.

Qualifications and Experience

• The candidates must possess a good honours degree/masters degree and a Ph.D in Library and Information Science.
• He/she should have at least fifteen (15) years post graduation and professional experience.
• Membership of the Nigerian Library Association is required
• Candidates are expected to be a person(s) with good leadership qualities who can Inspire and motivate staff under them;
• Candidates are expected to be a person(s) of high integrity, who promotes merit
• Candidates are expected to be a person(s) who enjoy excellent physical and mental health;
• Candidates are expected to be a person(s) who are focused and Innovative; and
• Candidates are expected to be Computer literate.

Conditions of Service
The appointment is for a period of five (5) years effective from the date of assumption of duty. The salary Is as applicable to similar positions in Federal Universities In Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the University Government Council.
