In partnership with one of the leading global insurers, we aspire to establish a foremost insurance underwriting firm in Nigeria, having recently obtained a licence to establish a life insurance business, we have ambitions to build  the partnership to include non-life insurance in the medium term. As part of plans to commence full operations, we seek to recruit focused , energetic, results-oriented and suitably qualified professionals to fill the following positions in the country:

COMPANY SECRETARY/LEGAL ADVISER(Ref: FILCS/LA)

Reporting to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for that the company complies with all statutory standards and corporate governance.He/She is to act as a point of communication between the Board of Directors and company shareholders. Specifically, the candidate will:
Investigate compliance issues and coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries or examinations
Partner with management with respect to startegic issues
Offer legal advice to managemnent and staff to ensure the best legal approach is taken for business venture
Handle conflicting legal matters that involve international, public and private law.
Organize, prepare agenda for, and take minutes of Board meetings and annual general meetings(AGMs)
Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, and taking appriopriate action

QUALIFICATIONS,EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
A good bachelor's degree in Law
Higher degree(s) or relevant professional qualification(s) will be an added advantage
Minimum of seven(5) years experience with at least two (2) years in a reputable insurance company
Must be computer literate and must be able to work in a team-based multi-cultural environment
Ability to drive result through others
Excellent negotiation and communication  skills
